The piece on the right is another "Hang" piece. This piece was done on the Mattapan trolley line. A lot of the older writers from my generation were slowing down and a new generation of writers was making a lot of noise. Hang was one of the hungriest writers from his generation. "Soche" was also there that night although he didn't rock a piece. A lot of people have seen this pic but I never see pics of "Hang's" piece. I just thought he should get the credit for rockin' that night.
Around this time, the Mattapan line was regaining popularity as a burning line. The older Latino Kings from the Elevated Orange Line (Sen 2, Gene, Anomic,Chap, Noz, Wizdom, Romeo, Juice) were retiring and a new generation of writers was coming out of the Mattapan/Dorchester area. Although the Elevated Orange Line always remained the center of graff in Boston, the trolley line was more accessible to the writers from the Mattapan/Dorchester area. So many of the younger cats like Coz, Soche and Hang continued the legacy on the trolley line that was started by people like Maze and Soul.

This piece says DIM. It stands for Def Indian Master. The piece was done by "Hang" on the Mattapan trolley line. Many Indians moved from India to Caribbean Islands like Jamaica and Trinidad to find work. Hang's family was from the Caribbean and had Indian ancestry. He lived in the Dorchester area. He and "Saint" were partners in the mid 80's and are probably the most prolific writers in the entire history of Boston graff.

SLY "Y" throwup. This is the bottom landing of the emergency exit between Hynes Convention Center and Kenmore sq at the end of Newbury st. The door opens to the tunnel and tracks. the tunnel would get rocked too.

We took these pics at dusk hoping there was enough light for the shot. We had a Polaroid and wasted all the film trying to get a better shot than the last (JAROCK'S pic came out much better). Then we waited in the station to see if it would run. Sure enough, a beautiful sunny morning the train pulls in and we're fresh out of film. We didn't care we were just glad that it ran. We rode the train from Quincy to Alewife watching the people checking out our pieces at each stop. We were damn proud...
